Our 4 Rural Houses

The village of Sella, 16 km from the coast,  lies in the shelter of the Aitana, 1557 m, and the Puig Campana, 1408m. The water is clean and pure, the people friendly  and the views, across the almond terraces of the Sella valley, are spectacular.

Una Bellesa d'altura..
Sella is unique - 15 miles from Benidorm and even closer to the new Terra Mitica theme park, yet the village retains its unspoilt simplicity.

Water..Sella's pride and prime resource is its water - local springs feed our taps and you can paddle in the pool at the Font Major or fill your bottles at the Font d'Alcantara.

Climbing, walking, mountain biking..The famous rock climbs are about 2 miles down the valley and Sella is at the centre of a network of roads and tracks ,perfect for the hill walker and mountain biker.

Almonds and cultivation..The surrounding mountain slopes retain the terracing and Almond cultivation started by the Moors a thousand years ago. Come in February and March when the hills are a glory of white and pink blossom.

Sella..On the steep hillside, Sella always catches the sun. The climate is ideal - too high up the mountain for mosquitoes, but not high enough for winter snows.

Fiesta..Sella knows how to have fun - the Fiesta Mayor , first weekend in October, is a glorious mix of fireworks, partying and drinking. Not a lot of sleeping, though. .
Semana Cultural..This is in mid August - rather more sedate with theatre, concerts and other events in the Plaza Mayor.
Moros y Cristianos.. Not in Sella but in Villajoiosa, 16 km down the hill on the coast, the end of July has a week of spectacular fireworks and parades -  There's a 5 in the morning invasion of the town from the sea, if you fancy a long night of partying first!

Languages..This is not a tourist town so don’t expect souvenir shops or flamenco bars. You’ll hear Spanish as well as Valencian, the local language, but English is widely understood. Attempts to speak Spanish are appreciated—no matter how awful your accent!

Facilities..
Although Sella is small, about 600 residents, there are 6 bars and restaurants, a butcher, shops, bakeries and  a lively year round cultural life. As well as the main Fiesta in October there’s a “cultural week” in August with theatre and music and the village boasts a successful and busy orchestra. .
